Our Mission

The Port of Toledo's mission is to strengthen the local economy by supporting infrastructure, fostering sustainable development, and promoting community partnerships in South Lewis County, Washington.

Our History

The proposed Port has deep roots in Southwest Washington's heritage. Originally a steamboat stop, the Cowlitz river shore at Toledo served as an unofficial port handling goods and supplies for the local community, trappers and gold prospectors even before the formation of the City of Toledo in 1892. This proposed Port plans to reinvigorate the lost commerce of the original Cowlitz River. Today the Port remains committed to improving transportation, land development, and access to resources for residents and businesses alike.

Governance

The Port is governed by an elected Board of Commissioners and operates transparently for the benefit of the public. We collaborate with local government, businesses, and regional agencies to enhance our community.
